As part of its corporate social responsibility, CSR, the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, NAHCON, has donated essential pharmaceutical drugs to two non governmental organizations, NGOs, the Muslim Professionals in Da’awah Foundation and the Peace Care Foundation, respectively.
The NAHCON’s Commissioner of Planning, Research, Statistics, Information, and Library Services, PRSILS, Prof. Abubakar A. Yagawal, made the donation on behalf of the commission on Wednesday at the Hajj House in Abuja, highlighted the importance of supporting organizations that are dedicated to community service and healthcare delivery.
According to him, the donation was part of NAHCON’s broader initiative to contribute to the well-being of Nigerians, especially those who are actively engaged in improving health and promoting peace through da’awah and other humanitarian activities.
The commission, in a statement by Shafii Sani Mohammed of its Information and Publications Department, explained that the donations were the surplus of pharmaceuticals originally procured for use during this year’s Hajj operation.
The statement added that the initiative underscores NAHCON’s dedication not only to the successful coordination of Hajj activities, but also to making meaningful contributions to society through various philanthropic efforts.
Muslim Professionals in Da’wah was represented by the National Amir, Umar Farouk Bello, while Dr. Aisha Sidiqi represented Peace Care Foundation.
Both representatives expressed their deep gratitude to NAHCON for the generous donation, noting that the pharmaceuticals would significantly boost their ongoing efforts to provide medical care to underprivileged communities and promote peace and stability through their outreach programmes.
